I love historical romance when it is well done as was The Six Month Marriage by Amanda Grange (Kindle version).
The story is charming but fast moving. The reader is drawn in by the sweet character of the leading lady and her determination to survive in the face of over-powering adversity. The hero is understated with just enough attitude to make him realistic. The author did not beat the reader over the head with detailed description. There was enough to distinguish London from Yorkshire and manor from tenants’ abodes.
The book was presented well without grammatical or typographic errors. Truly a pleasure to read.
This book is in the nature of a sweet romance. The single love scene is tastefully done without graphic sex. And it ends with a satisfactory happy ever after. What more would one want?
